Toronto’s magical Window Wonderland, presented by Isaan Der Thai Kitchen, a FREE immersive urban art walk, is returning to the Junction for its fourth consecutive year. From November 24, 2023 – January 31, 2024, the award-winning Window Wonderland exhibition will transform the Junction into an interactive, outdoor gallery featuring unique augmented reality (AR) installations by local and international artists.
The first of its kind for Toronto (Canada), Window Wonderland is presented in collaboration with the internationally-renowned AR app, Artivive. Linking classical with digital art, Artivive allows artists to create new dimensions with a digital layer, opening a new world of possibilities. Visitors can see the artists’ creations come to life by pointing their phone cameras at the large-scale artwork displayed on the windows.
Recipient of the 2021 Ontario BIA Association’s Initiative Award, the 2022 International Downtown Association’s Award of Excellence and the 2022 TABIA Events Award!
In this project I've worked together with muralist Andrea Rodriguez and Cool Earth architecture. Check out our page at Window Wonderland here.
You can check out the animation by using the Artivive app and point it to the mural in the photo above!
Below I share with you the process of making the animation! I've worked in 3D and 2D. Andrea gave me her 2D vector artworks and I've added animations to that plus extra 3D objects and characters to tell the story. I've also made the music.
